Dr Peter Matoka had a great story to tell yesterday about President Kaunda and his time in office. I have known Dr Matoka and his wife since I was a little boy. He is a seasoned politician and diplomat. He served as cabinet minister in various portfolios including Ambassador to Italy, Britain and other countries. Dr Matoka shared with us how President Kaunda told off the British Prime Minister Edward Heath at No. 10 Downing Street over the Rhodesia issue in the presence of other dignitaries when Heath wanted to curtail the discussion claiming he had another appointment.
