Dr Richard Lumsden - a Harvard educated atheist and Professor of evolutionary biology, was dean of the graduate school of biological sciences at Tulane University. However, after many years of lecturing, he realised there were no valid scientific answers to questions like, How could natural selection acting on random mutations evolve into new and better genetic structures?’ and ‘Are not the odds of the self-assembly of genes mathematically impossible?’ This realisation compelled Professor Lumsden to contemplate on the only other valid explanation - that God created life and subsequently become a Christian.
