Dr. Riki Ott is coming to speak about the Keystone XL and traveling along the route . Dr. Riki Ott witnessed first-hand the ecological destruction and social chaos from the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince William Sound, Alaska––and became an “accidental activist” in its wake. A trained marine toxicologist and former commercial fisher woman, she has written two books on oil spill impacts to ecosystems, people, and communities and starred in Black Wave, an award-winning feature film. She has a PhD in marine toxicology and has taken a stand against oil, tar sands and the use of dispersants like we saw in the Deepwater Horizon disaster. She will be in Wichita on Saturday, July 12th at 2:00 pm at the Great Plains Nature Center , 6232 East 29th St N, Wichita, KS 67220 to speak and have an open discussion with local leaders and environmentalists. We will have on hand Bill Griffith an energy consultant from Cromwell Solar that will share with us how SOLAR can be INSTALLED FOR ZERO DOWN ON YOUR HOME! Be part of the power shift and fighting climate change while getting electricity from the sun! Learn more about the big changes coming in powering our grid and how you can have a solar array in the very near future. Bring questions not money! Please join us to see this powerful speaker and activist. Contact Lori Lawrence for more info lawrencelorid@gmail Then from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm join us at the home of Yvonne Cather (1920 S. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas). Yvonne is hosting Dr. Riki Ott and Bill Griffith for the evening to discuss one-on-one. Food provided, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, bring veggie food to grill.
