Dr Tushar Vince is head of clinical assessment, and the one who writes the OSCE, by going through the VC docs/lectures. things Dr V says that you prob want to know: 1. the long list as it stands is accurate. 2. In the OSCE, you may be asked to assess a patient with memory or cognitive problems to determine which tests should be performed. If you have been taught how the tests are performed, then it would also be reasonable to expect a station where you would have to perform the tests. 3. the clinical skills staff teach practical skills, not history-taking, examination (inc neuropsch assessment) or communication skills. For their skills, you have the clinical skills guides and the OSCE website. The neuropsych material is contained in the learning resources section relating to lectures given by Dr Rahman and others - thats where I got the information from. 4. stuff from the neuro essay might be useful 5. whilst specialist knowledge of diabetes isnt needed, I do however expect a general knowledge of diabetes as would be expected by a man on the Clapham omnibus. 6. Dr V is friendly but i think a bit overwhelmed with students emailing at the mo -- might be a good time to use a spokesperson if youve questions. x
