Dragon Magick: What is Dragon or Draconic Magick To put it lightly Dragon Magick is when you call up on dragons to aide in your magical workings. Dragons can be practiced at all levels (no matter what some say) and they help to empower your rituals no matter what tradition you practice. Draconics work in clans (not covens). Their ranking systems are similar to pagan but the names are slightly different. There are many different ways to use dragons. Different clans throughout the world use and practice dragon magick in a multitude of ways and teaches different facets of their personalities. There are some who see them only as elemental energies without independent existence; while others seem them as symbols of that energy and having no true existence at all. Some believe they are astral beings, having form and existence but are not allowed to manifest on our daily lifes physical plane. Keep in mind that dragons do not solely exists when we call upon or invoke them. They are astral beings with much to do and their time flows differently than ours. They have their own lives to lead and what my be convenient for you may not be convenient for them. they are in no way bound to our wills nor must they obey our commands; this is why keeping them happy and being respectful is such a big deal. There is a sure way to drive them off and you better bet you could suffer backlash from such so be prepared. As teachers of ancient knowledge their grasp of it is deep and profound. Their ability to help in divination is astonishing and quite accurate. As protectors during rituals and everyday life there are no equals. And if a Dragon chooses to take you under their wings you will have the opportunity of learning knowledge and evolving your magical ability, which few have done. A lifelong practice with Dragons can be very rewarding but takes much dedication and self-discipline. Dragons form the best companions and although it may seem demanding at times but it is never boring and a joyful experience that can strengthen both species by gaining in their evolution and spiritual growth. Dragon magick is not for everyone. Dragon magick is a hard path but is well worth it in the end if you are willing to be open minded and see to change the world! Dragon Magick Draconic Magick and its path teaches you how to work in harmony with dragons and with draconic energies, how to befriend dragons, and how to blend their magic and majesty with your current spiritual way. You do not have to give up your current way or worship but you will have to be willing to adapt it in order to work with dragons. Know that very few people today practice the ancient Draconian Traditions as it was rarely written down. The original practice was one that was transferred from teacher to pupil orally generation to generation. It wasnt for many years before the practice began to be documented in the written form in order to preserve some of its history and teachings. Note that dragon magick can be used solely in its own tradition or as an additive to another tradition. However, when adding dragon magick to other traditions know that you must never place other deities above dragons or expect the dragons to be subservient to your patron God(s). Keep in mind that their are already many deities who are dragons or have draconic forms; you can work together with them as well as other dragons and deities. If you do work with multiple deities please be sure to introduce those to the dragons and allow them meditative time to get to know each other. If interested in working with dragons please dont forget to research the God(s) and make sure that they are compatible with dragons before using them together. For example, you would never want to work with dragons if one of your deities is a dragon slayer. If they are not compatible you are still able to work your magick with both just remember to separate your Draconic workings from your regular ones. Ladytree* (source unknown)
