Dramatic Storytelling for Children-The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Age:3-5. Come inside the overwhelming world of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, where there is so much food to eat, but so little time in which to eat it. What happens when a greedy minibeast cannot decide when to stop devouring each treat he finds; from a little strawberry, to a lollipop, to a huge slice of chocolate cake!?! As if this isnt enough action for one tiny green grub in just one week, you better get ready for Sunday, when he finally emerges from his chrysalis in a dramatic transformation! Through this participatory and action-packed workshop, children will explore the iconic story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. They will use their body language, facial expressions and imagination to bring the tale to life on a fantastical experience within the group. We will investigate the relevant topics covered throughout the story: Different foods, what is unhealthy and healthy, what we like to eat and what we dislike and of course, most importantly, the amazing life-cycle of a caterpillar from minibeast to butterfly! Students will be encouraged to articulate themselves and speak out within a small group, as well as working as a team and using listening and analytical skills whilst having fun.
