Dre White When Neferpitou was explaining the situation to Pouf this drastically changed the direction the arc was originally supposed to go in. Because the chimera ants are beings that are born with a natural sense to Protect Meruem from all harm, naturally this means they can coincide with anyone who is of the same race or of the same species. This is how it started off, but it is not how it ended. With Youpi fighting Knuckle and Shoot, it took how his Psychological transformation and took it into a new direction, instead of trying to find out how to protect the king, now youpi had instead gone against his own birth given command, in order to keep a man whom he respected alive, even if this individual can become a main threat to the King. Poufs transformation ensues when he knows of the situation and yet he sees that Knuckle is still alive, thus showing that Youpi had not done what he was commanded to do from birth. With this, it started Poufs very own transformation in which he began to question the very own ethics he was born with and began to doubt his fellow ants. He grew a selfish personality, this is where the Individualism theme comes into play, with Ants they all have one goal, as I stated earlier, but now Pouf has gained his own goal and a human characteristic, selfishness. He didnt want Komugi and the King to get together and for the king to remember Komugi all because he wanted the king to himself, He grew this innate sense of Selfishness and doubt in his comrades when Youpi failed to kill Knuckle. With this, and all of the other battles that came to be in the last part of the Chimera Ant Arc, each of the characters began to transform psychologically, but not only by themselves, but rather their interpersonal relationships caused them all to receive this transformation at around the same time, due to the events at hand. These are just 2 I wanted to share with you, every single fight had begun a psychological transformation in all of the individuals participating in it, whether they were bad or good is all up to the person and how they perceive it. The thing that amazes me about this is how the Transformation of these characters is what caused certain events in the story to change from its original course and essentially moved the plot forward.
