Dread Disease cover for minors. We understand that ensuring your child receives the best medical treatment money can buy is of critical importance to you. Am stand-alone insurance product that exclusively provides cover for chronic illness and dread disease in minors. No parent wants to think about the possibility of their child falling critically ill. The reality is that the emotional trauma of managing a chronic or dread disease is often compounded by the financial stress of funding the treatment. Benefit pays out, on diagnosis, an immediate lump sum per child of either R250 000 or R500 000, depending on the level of cover that you select. This substantial payout assists with the ongoing medical costs associated with dread disease treatment, giving you the best care available for your child. But my children are already covered by our medical aid. Why do they need additional cover? Those families fortunate enough to have private medical insurance are often still left with a substantial financial shortfall, and can even be left destitute in an effort to cover ongoing treatment costs. This is because medical aid plans may only cover costs associated with hospitalisation whereas the costs of appropriate treatment and care may be excluded. From as little as R119 per month, the product is designed to provide funds for treatments and procedures not covered by these plans, such as diagnostic scans, specialist consultations, chronic medication, treatment therapies and ongoing care. conditions: Cancer Stroke Heart Attack Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Aorta Graft Surgery Major Organ Transplant (Including Heart, Liver, Lung, Pancreas or Bone Marrow) Kidney Failure Multiple Sclerosis Blindness Deafness Heart Valve Replacement or Repair Paralysis or Paraplegia (Non-accidental) Third Degree Burns HIV/AIDS (Needle-stick Injuries Only) Cover excludes pre-existing conditions.
