Dreams Dreams Dreams! There are so many factors that shape us as teenagers and children. We are shaped by the surroundings we live in, some environment support us well, some do not. Sometimes, it is the kind of parents you have, the type of career they have, type of schools you attend(ed) or the part of the world you grew up in. You can also be affected by events. Some are major events, many are personal events like the death of a precious family member. Other times we may be affected by national events, like conflicts and wars or economic woes or the Tsunami. These events can have a big impact on our lives positively or negatively. However none of these factors has as much potential power for affecting our futures as our ability to dream. Whatever we do we must allow the pull of the future to be the greatest pull in lives. Powerful dreams have the potential to urge you forward, drawing you like a strong magnet. The stronger they are the more they draw you forward. They can pull you through circumstances and disasters. Some people do not recover from disasters because they have nothing to live for anymore. There is nothing on the other side to make life worth a living. No dreams to look forward to! Dreams are a projection of the kind of life you want to experience. Someone described dreams as adrenalin injections. “They can make you skip over obstacles or walls that you never thought you could overcome. When you allow your mind to open up and your dreams to take wings, they can unleash a creative force that can overpower any obstacle in your path!” Note that it is only dreams, powerful dreams and not wishful thinking that have the potential to unleash this creative force. Clearly defined dreams! A dream that does not have a future would not have the creative or the pulling power to make things happen. Therefore to really achieve your dreams, to really have your future plans pull you forward, your dreams must be clear. Not fuzzy dreams or wishful thinking. Yes we all have nightmares and fears but let us conquer our nightmares with our dreams. Decide what you want for your life and start planning now! You should not only start dreaming from a young age, you should start asking teachers, parents or role models what you need to start doing to achieve that dream. What subjects you need to concentrate on, what skills you need to build! Most world achievers started dreaming and following their dreams very early on in life. Tiger wood started playing golf at the age of two! The Williams sisters (Venus and Serena-world number 1) started playing tennis at 5. Lewis Hamilton started racing remote controlled cars at 6 and started car racing at 8. You have got to be a dreamer. Youve got to see the future. Youve got to see the finish line while you’re running the race. Youve have got to hear the cheers when you’re in the middle of an impossible task and youve got to be willing to put yourself through the paces of doing the uncomfortable until it becomes comfortable. Work hard on the dreams and never give up on your dreams! God bless your dreams and see you at the top.
