Driving home. Its the first time Ive been alone since I jumped in the car and drove down late Wednesday night. Hard to believe it has been less than 48 hours since learning of my sisters death. As with the trip down, I spent a lot of time praying tonight and much of that wrestling with God. In the midst of that time, the song Tears in Heaven came on the radio and it started raining. Some time later, wrestling even harder, I begged God for His grace and mercy. I began just screaming at the top of my lungs that she deserved the happiness that alluded her in life. As this is happening, the song Happy by Pharrell comes on. I called Lanas oldest son to tell him a little bit about what had happened and he told me that was one of his moms favorite songs. Ive never been one of those hokey I see Jesus on my toast kind of people, but God gave me peace tonight through the radio. I believe He communicated with me and that He deserves my praise even in this time of hurt. Yall, we serve an awesome, loving God. Ive attached my sisters obituary, which includes information about the services that will be held in her honor. I wish you all could have known the wonderful person she was and is.
