Driving home from the beach last night was a bit of a hair raising experience! We had the T-tops off the Vette, the sky already dark because of the night, but John spied lightning off in the distance, so pulled over to put the tops on. Just in time! Within minutes the sky opened up and the wind almost blew us away! The roads were blocked in Hebron, with downed trees and wires. We turned around to go a different way, only to find those roads blocked as well. We ended up on a back road we had never been on (yes, weve lived in Hebron for 30 years!) luckily ending up on a familiar one, but there were trees down all around. Once we got to our end of Hebron, it was apparent most of the damage was in the southern end of town. We have not seen anything on the news about the storm, but it looks like there was a lot of damage. Hopefully no one was hurt. Two years ago when we went to the same beach, the skies opened up, and the road was almost flooded! So if anyone saw a flash of white last night on RT. 66, it wasnt a bird or a plane, nor the lightning that was bolting out of the skies, it was Crazy John…the Corvette Man! Maybe we should heed the weather reports before venturing out next time!
