Driving in La Crescenta tonight with two very upset grand kids in the car. I was pulled over by the Sheriff and cited for what could be a very questionable violation. Sheriff said he was tracking me since I usually drive below 35 MPH, it may seem too wreckles for some. The two officers could not decide which was I was driving and what it was I did. I think it was more about my license plates and the color of my skin - which usually does not call attention. Perhaps that is why the Officer asked me what country were you born in. Maybe this was the real violation. Outside of answering this question on paper while applying for college, or other necessary government entity I cant remember being asked this question in non social circles. Officer proceeded to ask me for my phone number. This was the last straw. I asked why are you going to call me. His Sergeant said he could leave that question out as well as the one about which country I was born in? I would like to know if anyone of you has been asked this question during a citation. Let me know. All this while my two grand daughters were in the car complaining about how tired they were and they wanted their snack. When I asked one of the officers if I could take my grand kids out of the car seats and stand on the side walk with them. His reply was no it is best you stay in the car. I cant believe this type of stuff goes on.
