Driving to dance class tonight I had an idea thanks to a post by Missy Piegaro…..At Christmas time we helped.. SAIL Shore Adolescent Independent Living which is is a partial care program for children and adolescents with impaired emotional, social, and behavioral problems. During the Spring we made a contribution to Common Ground which is a nonprofit organization that helps children through the grieving process. ..This nonprofit organization, Dogs on Deployment, really caught my eye, because Brad loved dogs..I think Brad sometimes loved dogs more than he loved people and I think he would have been fully on board with this potential plan....Im gonna try and see how the Brad Sergeant Institute and Dogs on Deployment can work together.. Maybe with money raised from our next event we can make a donation to Dogs on Deployment ..After some preliminary research I have found outstanding reports on this nonprofit..They really work hard to improve the mental health of our military personnel.. Deployment can be SO stressful for soldiers who are pet owners…DOD helps to find loving foster homes for doge of military personal so they are less stressed and worried and they are free to focus on their mission….Ultimately soldiers can be reunited at the end of their deployment with their beloved pets and this results in better mental health and thats what the Brad Sargent Institute is all about..Promoting better mental health and raising awareness..I hope to see it come together..I will keep you all updated and I hope to see you at our next fundraiser
