Drum roll please............... Testosterone: 383.2 pg/ml, Comments: Testosterone level is consistent with presence of functional testicular tissue. Laboratory reference ranges: gelding less than 50pg/ml; inconclusive 50-100pg/ml; cryptorchid 100-500 pg/ml; mature stallion 800-2,000 pg/ml. Folks, our gelding Wilson, is NOT a gelding, he is what they call a cryptorchid! Meaning one of his testicles never dropped and is inside of him, he will require a surgical procedure to finish the botch gelding job! Not only is what the vet who removed the visible testicle did unethical, by removing the visible testicle it prevented people, like us, from knowing they were getting a stallion, not a gelding as presented, putting every horse he came here with at risk, of injury or pregnancy! We will now need to raise around $2,000 to correct this. WE MUST fix this, before he can be trained or adopted. Meaning this act of irresponsibility will prevent us from saving others until the money is raised, the surgery is done and he recovered fully, he could be with us for a very long time......not that Mr. Wilson does not deserve this! He does, he is a sweet and darling boy.But we cannot take another until he is re-homed. And so goes rescue! This was part of my melt down earlier this week, we all knew the test results would confirm what he was showing us! A stallion, seriously, a. stallion. Stay turned for some odd ball humor, because at this point all we can do is friggin laugh.
