Dt 34:1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the - TopicsExpress

Dt 34:1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, 2 And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea, 3 And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar. 4 And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. 5 So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. 6 And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. 7 And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. 8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended. 9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses. 10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, 11 In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, 12 And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel. So in the first verse Moses is obeying YHVHs command given to him back in 31:48-49 & got himself all hundred & 20 years of him up another mountain & there God showed him all sorts of views of the promised land across the river Jordan. In verse 4 YHVH tells him ok you seen it, its time we were going & in verse 5 Moses was dead according to Jesus or the word of YHVH. He buried him somewhere in the house of Peor but they kept exactly where a secret. So i am guessing that perhaps Joshua handled it either by himself or with a few trusted associates or servants that would keep their mouth shut & not tell everybody thereby breaking this scripture about nobody knowing where it is (God forbid he killed anyone he took with him to the task); or this is most likely saying that YHVH Himself took care of Moses burial arrangements without the help of men. Until this day is probably in Joshuas lifetime when he compiled this final chapter; but there is a very slim possibility that this was a note put in by someone else later on like Ezra - in any case when the bible says unto this day normally the day it was written moreso than today when we are reading it even if the same truth is true unto this very day of today like in this case of most likely nobody knows where Moses was buried still even unto this very day. Because the word he follows the proper noun the word of God, perhaps a manifestation of Jesus buried Moses. Heh i wouldnt mind if nobody showed up to my funeral if Jesus was the high priest doing the ceremony. K so this next 7 verse is the one i prayed for me & most likely didnt get as my eyesight is not what it used to be & needed to upgrade from the worlds smallest bible to the 2nd smallest, whereas Moses was 120 old when he died & his eye was not dim nor his natural force abated so there was probably still some pep in his step so to speak to be able to be running around holding conferences & talking to thousands of people depending on how long it took to get to the top of the mountain the same day, week, or month that he died. Not to mention going up a mountain is no easy thing if your natural force was abated. The 8th verse says the people mourned for Moses to a whole month & it appears that he was loved as there were people crying for him the whole time. The 9th verse Joshua is talking about himself or whoever wrote this if not him it was probably Eleazar the high priest. Joshua was blessed by God with the spirit of wisdom probably at the time that Moses did that ceremony of laying on of hands to him which probably happened during Dt 31:7. 1 Tim 4:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. This ceremony is still to be done in the new testament age & is a ritual used to give somebody a job in the kingdom of Christ for the most part but also done while praying someone is baptized in the Holy Spirit. The other main rituals of the NT church would be baptism, communion & the washing of feet but that one has fallen out of practice yet i am sure that we should still be doing it - Jn 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. Now because of this one over here in Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, some might try to take the spiritual route & say they are fulfilling washing other peoples feet just by giving them the gospel - but Jesus said we are to be doing what He did & what He did was actually get on His knees & wash the disciples feet teaching us that the guy who is in charge should be the guy who is doing it. So the majority either ignores it or weasels their way out of it any way they like but the real disciples of Jesus still to this day will be running around washing feet from time to time. Joshua did as Moses was commanded by YHVH - so he paid attention to what the scriptures said & wasnt running around ignoring them all the time or picking & choosing which ones he liked & pushing the ones he didnt like away as some of us are prone to do. The 10th verse has a line about how after Moses there wasnt any more prophets like Him to have face to face conversations with YHVH & do all sorts of miracles like Moses did while killing the Pharaoh & his army while rescuing the people from Egypt and all the other sorts of miracles that happened along the way like when his sister turned leprous for talking bad about him & Korah got eaten by an earthquake & some of his cronies were burnt alive by fire from YHVH for rebelling against him. Heh but i have seen people get bad circumstances happen to them after they attack a servant of God for no good reason. So that bit about Moses knowing YHVH face to face is a hard bit to swallow when placed side by side with this other one that goes Jn 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. - In any case there are many passages about the subject & to make a long story short here is what God told me - Nobody can see all of God at the same time for one as He is too big for us to be able to take Him all in at once without changing our vantage point a few times (more like very many times) & the time it takes us to move to the new position means that we couldnt see all of Him at once as we had to move to see more of Him that we couldnt see from where we were when we started looking at Him. This is quite similar to the bit about how you cant possibly see all of planet earth at once because even from space where you can see the whole thing you cant see the back of it when you are on one side. And besides looking from space is too far away to see any of the details & so it would require traveling all over the world to every little island & cave & swamp & desert & ice field & mountain & lake & stream & you name it & even people who have traveled all over the world probably didnt see every single thing in it as there will be places they chose not to go or are not allowed to go or are inaccessible with the technology that they have at their disposal like how only a few people have the really good submarines that go really deep & let you look outside & it is doubtful if they even built one yet that is able to withstand the pressures of the deepest parts of the ocean with a human inside. Also He is so glorious that if we looked at what He really looked like with the eyes we have now they would burn out of our heads like as if we got too close to the sun so He always tones His glory down when revealing anything about Himself to us so we are not blinded - remember Moses face glowed after having a convo with God so much they put a veil over his face to not freak everybody else out (Ex 34:29-35). One story says that he could look at His back but not His face - this story was describing that effect of God having to town down His glory so as to not hurt the viewer who is looking at Him. He also told me that the reason His voice in my head sounds so similar to mine is because if He spoke in His real voice i would go deaf & never be able to hear another thing on this world. So basically nobody has seen the face of God at any time in its whole glory, but people who are seeking for God can be shown a representation of Him with less than His total glory & sometimes it might involve a face. One time only a hand appeared in front of a king who didnt like or worship God & it was most likely a manifestation of YHVH - Dan 5:5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. So basically just because nobody seen all of God at any time doesnt stop Him from manifesting Himself at any time He sees fit & sometimes in a way that we can see Him (like in the case of Jesus). Course if i had an actual vision of God (compared to vision from God of which i had a few) it was when i was a little kid b4 i met Jesus; i was in a church one day & the figure i seen that represented God had a face, but it was glowing so i could not make out any distinguishing features. In any case i rarely tell the story about that day because i expect less people to believe that one than any of my other improbable stories. Well until next time when we will take a look at Joshua chapter 1 let us pray that we like Moses accomplish the mission that God has for us in our life before we die & unlike Moses do it in a way that He doesnt cut us off from any particular blessing because we paid attention to what He told us to do & obeyed faithfully during those critical times especially when our actions are supposed to paint a picture of Jesus to other people. Let us also pray that Moses prayer is fulfilled - Num 11:29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them! So that there are more people who walk closely with God & are given access to His miracle working power like Moses to do great things for Jesus in our generation. Also let us pray that we can take the time to study for ourselves all the different passages about how nobody has seen God yet some have seen Him face to face & have God explain to us how they both fit together in the same picture that the bible is painting.
