He was a sought-after singer and actor on student projects while attending USC as both an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Scholar and a Warner Brothers Fellow in screenwriting. A member of two L.A. area beach bands after college, DK worked days and attended graduate school in psychology at night until the financial crisis and a series of health issues left him jobless and nearly homeless. Deciding to stay in Hollywood rather than move home, DK hustled his way through grad school before his demo recordings caught the attention of producers. When not pursuing creative projects, DK pals around with other models, actors, surfers, academics, and musicians near his home on the California coast.
