Due to an influx of calls regarding animals left unattended in vehicles, the Home Depot in Holly Springs donated a Ryobi laser thermal reader to the Holly Springs Police Department. The handheld tool helps aid officers in ascertaining the temperature inside the vehicle. It also can assist an officer in making the decision to act accordingly, either by issuing a citation or, in extreme cases, removing the animal from the vehicle.
