Due to an unusually high volume of submissions for the Tucson Alliance of Dramatic Artists 2013 Playwriting Contest, the results of the final four were delayed until now. They are: 1. American Farce by Michael Reiman (Orlando, FL) 9.5 avg 2. Mocha by Eleanor Burgess (NY, NY) 9.4 avg 3. Directing Hamlet by MIchael Perlmutter (Port Hueneme, CA) 9.3 avg. 4. Women and Guns by Steve Gold (Jamesburg, NJ) 7.93 avg The following press release will be going out to the original sources. You will be notified when the staged readings are scheduled and the selected director will contact you directly. PRESS RELEASE April 27, 2013 TUCSON ALLIANCE OF DRAMATIC ARTISTS (TADA!) The Tucson Alliance of Dramatic Artists (TADA!), announced the winners of their 2013 National Play-Submission Contest March 18, 2014. TADA is pleased to announce that of the 244 scripts submitted, the final four scripts will be read May through August, with a Tucson location TBD. All directors and cast will be announced shortly. The first reading of one of the finalists, American Farce by Michael Reiman of Orlando, Florida, will be presented in May, director and cast will be announced. In June, the second reading, Mocha by Eleanor Burgess. of New York, New York, director and cast will be announced. The third entry to the final four, Directing Hamlet by Michael Perlmutter of Port Hueneme, California, will be performed in July. Award-winning director Sheldon Metz, The final reading will be Women and Guns by Steve Gold of Jamesburg, New Jersey, director and cast will be announced. There will be a talk-back after each show. The audience will discuss and vote on several categories and by their vote, select a top winner to be presented in the following season, as a full production. This contest and these productions are presented by the Tucson Alliance of Dramatic Artists (TADA!) - a non-profit, professional-quality, repertory theatre company, dedicated to producing and presenting work that reaches out to our diverse community as it entertains, enriches, and educates its audience. TADA! works to encourage writers, nationally, of all ages to submit their original, never-produced plays. Our object is to make the audience feel... something. Theatre should be discussed from emotion within rather than from the conscious mind; how the story and the characters affected you as the theatre attendee. We will be producing events of social, human and political relevance. There will be NO charge for admission to this event. However, donations will be accepted gracefully.
