Due to being in the middle of a house move I had to withdraw from - TopicsExpress

Due to being in the middle of a house move I had to withdraw from this terms Fire Administration classes, which means I had to refund the GI Bill tuition money to the VA....no problem, I have no issue with that. So I called yesterday and paid via phone after waiting on hold for 45 minutes. Fast forward to this morning, and I got a message on my phone saying they had inadvertantly ran the charge twice, which means they got 800 bucks + of MY money, and that I needed to have my bank cancel the second withdrawal. Went to the credit union, and they said they would be glad to do that, but it should be easier and faster for the VA to simply reverse the charge, since they knew they had overcharged, and that the money had already transferred. After waiting another 45 minutes on hold, we (me and the bank teller) were very rudely told that they couldnt do that, that they would process my request within 5 days (it took them about 5 minutes to GET my money), and when the teller asked to speak to a supervisor, the customer service rep hung up the phone on her. Nice to see that the VA is working so hard to repair their image when it comes to serving the vets they exist to serve...smh.
