In Two Rooms, Lee Blessing takes us on a harrowing journey through the multi-faceted perspectives and psychologies of a long-term, terrorists hostage situation. The two rooms of the title are a windowless cubicle in Beirut where a group of Arab terrorists hold Michael Wells, an American hostage, and a room in his home back in the U.S., which his wife Lainie has stripped bare of all furniture and decor in order to feel more connected to Michaels situation. Through powerful, reflective monologues from the hostage in solitary confinement, imagined conversations between he and Lainie, and carefully navigated paths through Walkers emotional prodding and Ellens cold, logical reasoning, the question asked becomes not What is the right choice? but rather Is there a right choice? Auditions will be held by appointment at WorkISpace, 2701 Lawrence Street, Denver on Saturday, October 18, from 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 22 from 7:00 PM- 9:30 PM. and Saturday October 25, 2014 from 10:00 AM- 3:00 PM. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, October 26th from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM (if you are performing in a matinee this day we will work around your schedule).
