Due to recent border conflict with Bangladesh, Myanmar may start to buy Su-35s air fighter for Myanmar Airforce Recently, due to the conflict case with Bangladesh, Myanmar commander in chief is considering to upgrade all of Myanmar air force MiG-29SE to MiG-29UPG helped by India. Myanmar military faces the shortage of the defence budget after civilian government reduces the military expenses on 2012. Myanmar military announces that they will upgrade their MiG fleets to UPG standard by help from India and it is cheaper than upgrading to MiG-29SMT level which has the same standard as UPG standard, some of the Myanmar Airforce personnel shared about the news as they are considering to tender for new air fighters. Currently in the consideration, there are J-10B, Su-35s, Su-30MKII, MiG-35 and MiG-29SMT. Myanmar military does not have a right to buy western fighters and european fighters so Myanmar military is considering to buy from Russia and China. Unknown sources tell us that Myanmar government may start to buy Su-35s because their MiG-29SE can be upgraded and still can be useful for next few years. And instead of quantity, they are targeting to expand their defense plan with quality. Currently Myanmar neighbors countries such as Bangladesh and Thailand are using MiG-29B (Bangladesh) and F-16A/B (Thailand) and Gripen (Thailand). Some of the officials from Myanmar discuss to counter back neighbor countries by buying new expensive Su-35s and Myanmar air force will start to buy on 2017. Indonesian Airforce is currently in the consideration of buying Su-35s which is the 4++ generation fighters and the most advanced airfighter in 4++ Generation. //STT Journalist Freelancer
