Due to recent rains, Shire of Mundaring Deputy Chief Bushfire Control Officer has instructed that local bushfire brigades can now issue burning permits. Please note local brigades are run by volunteers and stations are only manned on Saturday mornings between 9am and 10.30am. Residents are permitted to burn 1sqm of garden refuse from 6pm – 11pm without a permit, with a person to be in attendance at all times. There must be a 5m wide area free of flammable material surrounding the pile and only one pile can be alight at a time. If you are concerned about an illegal or dangerous fire, call 000.
