Due to some events that have unfolded in the past week, I am going to put out a general warning: If you are selling something to someone, and you are not at a business location, it would be wise to meet at a mutual location for pick up. If, at any time you are having a conversation with a potential buyer or seller, and feel uncomfortable, or that something just isnt right, go with your instinct, and dont give any information like address or phone number. It is better to lose a sale, than to lose your privacy or gain a stalker. If you have given your address and number to someone to pick up items, and they are a no show, and yet still seem to call and send PMs, harassing you, call someone, let them know. If it continues, call the non-emergency police number and let them know that you had given your information to a potential buyer, but now all they do is harass you. If you live in an apartment, dont give them your unit number, meet them at the front door. If you are unsure about a buyer, you can ask admin if there have been any complaints about certain people. But, as of now, I only have the one from this incident, everyone else has been super fabulous, or at least Ive not been informed of anything. There has been an incident of this occurring, not only on this site, but on a few other sites as well. I am not giving out any names, but just saying that it is being dealt with. If the person that it involves wants to give out the information, then that is up to them. As admin, we need to pass on tips on how to protect yourself.
