Due to the base cost of implementing the infrastructure needed to allow high speed internet access to reach all people within the US, the debate has stretched beyond the FCCs ability to control and regulate. In 2014, to believe that the internet is not a part of the infrastructure needed for viable society, America has taken steps backward in regulating monopolies. Job searches, bill payment, research and entertainment are all accessed via the internet. The internet is a part of public infrastructure (like running water, electricity, and in most cases- telephone service) and should be considered a utility. Who the hell can I elect (soon) whose pockets are not lined by the holders of the fire wire/traditional cable/fober-optics?
