Due to the nature of the production schedule, we had to make sure that our concepts could be translated into 3D accurately and quickly, with as little guess work or re-interpretation as possible. This is an example of the prep work I would go through before handing of an illustration to an artist to work on. Using the data collected on set, I would try to recreate the photographed plate in Sketchup with all the recorded measurements. This would ensure the base perspective would be dead on, which helped getting buy off from the director. (Final painting by the illustrious Hungarian artist Kamen Anev!)
