Due to the presence of manganese in the municipal water supply - TopicsExpress

Due to the presence of manganese in the municipal water supply piping, which causes discoloration of the water supply, the R.M. of Edward is subsidizing the purchase of one Rainguard Whole House Dirt/Rust Water Filter, along with a Rainfresh Water Filter Connector Kit per service address within the Town of Pierson. The supplies are now available at the Valleyview Co-op Agro Centre. Filters will need to be replaced once every 1-4 months depending on the quantity of water usage at the service address. It is the financial responsibility of the service address owner to replace the filter. Currently, the cost of the filters is $4.99 and they are also available at the Valleyview Co-op Agro Centre. Further, a Pierson Utility Rate Study has been initiated to review the current rates, and will be submitted to the Public Utilities Board shortly. Expect utility rates to increase as current rates are inadequate to cover the operating costs of Pierson Utility. A Rate Study is also being submitted for the Lyleton Water Supply and rates are expected to increase there as well.
