Due to the significant rainfall that Escambia County has experienced, which has caused excessive flooding and sewage overflows, the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County has issued a health alert for the following inland marine areas: Bayou Texar at Bayview Park, Sanders Beach, Bayou Chico at Lakewood Park, Bayou Grande at Navy Point Park, Big Lagoon State Park, Quiet Water Beach and NASP Ski Beach. DOH-Escambia advises against engaging in any water-related activities at these locations due to high bacteria levels. All recreational water activities at NASP Bayou Grande Marina and Ski Beach are unavailable at this time. Water activities at Blue Angel Park are still available.
