Due to the strange temporal anomalies caused by Easter, in which the working week is compressed, my Weekend Wednesday update is somewhat late. Well that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it! So, how was the past weekend for you? I’m pleased to say I won my first Attack Wing OP Match on Saturday. I must say its quite satisfying to see one of my strategies that I planned actually work. It’s the beauty of the game really, it’s a mixture of chess, battleships, and poker. I put up a good fight in my second match, but lost, and to be honest I got slaughtered in my third. However, while the victories are nice, it’s the chance to meet people and learn about other games. This weekend is fairly quiet on the event front. I might go to Nottingham on a shopping trip, or to catch “The Amazing Spiderman 2” at the cinema. However, for the “future” part of this report, I thought I’d take a look at a few things that are coming up. On April 27th, our friends at Leeds and Manchester Starfleet are hosting a meet up at Leeds at the Fab Café. On May 16th to 18th, its Collectormania, and during the week of the 26th, it’s the Star Trek concerts from London. Hitting fast forward, we have the inaugural Region 20 event at Leicester, please contact Richard Sams for details. Running forward further still, we have the Starbase 24 Banquet in October. So, there’s plenty to look forward to! Finally, whatever faith you observe, have a restful and happy Easter. Hurray, made it through an update without a bad Egg pun. Cracking!
