Duffy update: this is day three off the antibiotics And day two of the gall bladder medicine. His appetite is great! He was ready to play ball when I got home, which is a good sign though not necessarily one that gives a terrier owner a full understanding of how the dog feels. Most Scotties (and other terriers) will insist they are fine when one of their legs is about to fall off...they are game dogs. But the good sign is his hunger and his keeping the food down. I talked with my cousin Marla today. Between my brother, my nephew and Marla, I am covered if Duffy has to be rushed into surgery. I am very grateful for that kind of support. I am also very grateful for those people asking for the intercession of St Francis, Patron Saint of animals. He preached to the birds and talked a wolf out of ravaging a village...the guy has a way with fur babies. I have also been asking St John Bosco for some help. His guardian angel took the form of a big grey dog. So, thank you everyone, this has been a very difficult past five or six years. I know I can survive losing my dog, but it would be nice to not have to...if it is Gods Will.
