Dun Huang City in Gansu Provence China once was the ancient capital of Uyghur Empire. The city shares the identical looks and structures of Buddhist Cave Temples and Monasteries and its devotional culture with Ancient Bamiyan, Afghanistan and Ancient Turpan, Uyghur Autonomus Region, China. Now unfortunately only by the Chinese Artists these Buddhist Dances are preserved. These are very beautiful pictures of performances in Dun Huang style Dances, Dun Huang City is considered one of the major cities of the Silk Road by the scholars and by the tourists. This culture had resided as a very next neighbor to the Zoroastrian culture of Persia for many centuries before the coming of Islam to the Areas The Zoroastrian and Buddhist culture naturally influenced each other. The flying streamers and long sleeve dances of Persian Classical Dances came from further East of Persia, according to my teacher, Dr Mahera Harouny.
