"Duncan Illegally Entered Game in Final Spurs’ Possession" -Tim Duncan entered the game illegally in the final possession of regulation (4th quarter) last night in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Duncan entered the game after the referees reviewed Ray Allen’s game-tying three pointer. Both Miami and San Antonio did not have any timeouts left. Since the review of the three pointer was not a dead ball situation, this was an illegal substitution. This would have resulted in a technical foul, which would have given Miami a free throw (and a chance to win the game in regulation). Miami went on to win in overtime with a score of 103-100, but if Miami had ended up losing, you could imagine how the fans and media would have reacted to this illegal substitution that took place.
