Duncan Smith and his Wiradjuri Echoes performed a Smoking Ceremony at the RAAF Birthday to honour our past and present Servicemen and Servicewomen. This is an ancient Aboriginal ceremony with deep cultural significance which honours their spirit of courage, self-sacrifice and service to our country. Across the country the Royal Australian Air Force celebrated the 93rd Anniversary of its formation. Falling during the year of the Centenary of Military Aviation, the themes for events were Tradition, Innovation and Evolution, chosen to reflect the past, present and future of aviation in Australia.
