Dundee United Legend Maurice Malpas who was a key player in Jim McLeans Title winning side of 1983 said earlier this week that his old club need to keep hold of their star players to be able to mount a title challenge. Malpas said to the Courier: Jackie McNamara will be desperate to keep his players together and maybe will be trying to get someone else on with a bit of experience to help some of the younger ones. United have for great legs in their team and thats probably one of the biggest things about United just now. Ive seen a wee bit of United this year having been out of a job and the results have been great this year, but I dont think theyve played as well as they did last year. Definitely agree with Super Mo on his last point, weve not been nearly as good as last season, but its results that matter and the mark of a good team is when you win despite not playing well!
