Durham City Police - 24/7 Response *** Doorstep selling scam *** We received a message during the week from a lady in Bowburn concerned about a young, allegedly deaf female selling what she described as hand drawn pictures. After reading about a very similar scam in the south of the country we were asked to alert our local residents of this tactic. It is believed that the female selling what is in essence photocopied artwork, is fake with massive mark ups being made on the items being sold.
