During Endo clinic .. many students ask shall I give the patient anesthesia or no? No need for anesthesia just in ; 1.Compeletly necrotic tooth .. with chronic apical periodontitis, or chronic abccess. 2. When you reach the MAF ,, and for obturation. 3. During retreatment if there is no acute apical pathosis. Give LA ..... 1.when the tooth is vital you should give LA even if its 2nd visit and you just did extripation in the 1st visit .... because the nerve ending still remain in the wall of the apical third ,,, it will removed compeletly just when you reach MAF . 2.When there is any acute apical pathosis ,, even if the tooth is necrosis .. still there will be pain from apical area.
