During UPA rule, Uttar Pradesh was regularly burning due to communal tensions & riots (Muzaffarnagar). We thought voting for Modi would ease such tensions & bring the situation under control, but unfortunately, the tension seems to have intensified further after Modi came to power. Although the onus lies with the CM of a state to maintain harmony & peace of the state, one cannot deny that the people of UP saw Modi as a ray of hope and hence voted hugely in his favor (70+ out of 80 seats in UP) in 2014 General Elections. Hence, I feel it is equally the responsibility of Modi/BJP as well to take this up on priority. Over the last few days, we have witnessed Saharanpur riots, Meerut gangrape & tension, Bareilly communal tensions and more. If Modi does not act now, the people of UP would feel betrayed and my respect towards him will substantially be lowered. Yes, This post is a criticism against Modi. I had criticized him for the language issue last month, for the subsidies in Delhi budget few weeks ago, and now for his inaction at UP.
