During WWII, Quantas operated commercial service in a PBY Catalina. These flights still hold the worlds record for the longest commercial flight typically taking 27 to 32 hours. They were nicknamed the Double Sunrise flights since the crew watched the sun rise twice on each flight. These flights, while commercial in nature, transported VIPs and the flights were of course secret. The Lockheed 1649 Constellation holds the record for a true regularly scheduled nonstop flight at 23 Hours 13 Minutes flying a polar route from London to San Francisco.
