During a conference in Brussels, Minister Douglas Uggah Embas denounced the No #PalmOil labels in France and Belgium for being discriminatory, unfair and baseless. As he explained, “our research shows that palm oil has an equal balance of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, which provide the oil with high oxidative stability, and unique functional properties required in the formulation of many food products”. Under the new EU Food Information to Consumers Regulation, No Palm Oil labels are illegal and should be banned by the French and Belgian Governments.
