During a conversation I had with someone via PM, I shared the following sentiment and felt like posting... I abhor the human condition. Our foremost attribute - our vast cognizance/intelligence - is also our greatest foible. Because of this "virtue" many believe us to be an "end product" in the evolutionary trek. That we are...special. That we have a god-given or otherwise inherent purpose for our existence outside the one we assign ourselves. It is for such reasons of self-deception that even Plato found humanity a profound disappointment. We - all of us, not a single being excluded - are less than a speck. This world, this solar system, this galaxy, this universe does not care about or "know" us. We are happenstance, imbued with the gift of life for a time and then relegated to nothingness. Imagine a life and world were we all stripped of preposterous beliefs in human significance and, instead, embraced reality and simply...lived.
