During a time of heightened tension and sadness in our city, it is a blessing to have some sort of nice, positive and uplifting news that puts hope back into your heart. Yesterday, the day after the horrific incident where Officers Ramos and Liu were taken from us by a coward, officers at the 62nd Precinct honored their commitment to the Secret Sandy Claus Project by sending out 3 different Santas to make deliveries to children less fortunate and bringing joy and smiles to their faces. Thank you to P.O. Jeff Bailey and his daughter, Jessica, P.O. Oggeri, A.P.O John, P.O. Kajewski, A.P.O. Paul and A.P.O. Patrik for spreading holiday cheer even in the darkest of moments for the NYPD. And thank you to the entire New York City Police Department for putting your lives on the line every day so that the rest of us can be safe. While our families are safe and sound in our beds, you are out on the streets ensuring our families safety every day. You are all truly heroes for what you all do day in and day out.
