During an exclusive interview with Radio, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy pondered conservative political talk show host Glenn Beck’s open letter to the British band’s singer last October after the band was critical of American right-wingers during an interview with UK media outlet The Observer. “As uncomfortable as it might be for you, I will still play your songs loudly,” Beck explained to Bellamy in the letter, which he posted to his official website. “To me your songs are anthems that beg for choruses of unity and pose the fundamental question facing the world today – can man rule himself?” “I suppose it’s nice that he’s a fan of the music, but I don’t want people to start using our music for strange, obscure political movements,” Bellamy told Radio about the band’s unlikely high-profile fan. “Not unless it was something I was really behind.
