During his state visit to Mongolia at the invitation of his counterpart President Elbegdorj Tsakhia, Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite his familiar tough-guy image, cries in public at the Chinggis Khaan Square while Mongolian military orchestra played Russian national anthem as a warm welcome. Mongolian twitter users are puzzled about his emotional moment and debating whether President Putin cried or not… Maybe he did. Following the crisis in Ukraine and piling pressure from the West, he probably was quite moved to see Russia’s good old friends in Mongolia, the infamous Mongols who had stood beside Russians during the World War II, the Mongols who had once conquered Moscow, the Mongols who had built the greatest land Empire that impacted the unification of Russia… Or maybe he just had a runny nose.
