During homeroom today, our students who were enrolled in Algebra I, English II, and Biology during the 2012-2013 school year, as well as those current ninth graders who took eighth grade science, math, and reading, received their score reports from last year’s state assessments. These score reports reflect the new standards for learning that the State Board of Education adopted and implemented last school year. The new assessments and the standards they measure are more difficult and more challenging than the previous ones. The performance that students need in order to meet Achievement Level 3 or better is more difficult to achieve. During the afternoon announcements today, Principal Warr congratulated the students and staff for their hard work, which shows in the school’s overall assessment data. Cuthbertson High School students proudly exceeded the district and state averages in Algebra I, English II, and Biology, the tested subject areas. In addition, our students exceeded the predicted growth of learning in all areas, as well. Again, congratulations to our students and staff! We have much to celebrate as we continue working to ensure success for all our students!
