During my planning period, I was replacing the battery pack in a Fusion typer, a keyboard with a simple word processor that downloads into Microsoft Word. The battery looks like a yellow stick of dynamite with wires attached. As I had all of the typers interior components laid out, screws, board, battery, etc. one of my students came in on an errand, and asked me whether I was defusing a bomb. I laughed and said that it sure looked like it, but no; it was the battery. The boy looked on in silent interest as I took the old battery out, slid in the new one into its place, and went to plug in the wires. As I plugged it into the slot, he jumped toward me, screaming BOOOOOM! making me screech in surprise. Excellent April Fools execution.
