During my second interview with the City of Harrisonburg, in July - TopicsExpress

During my second interview with the City of Harrisonburg, in July of 2002, a great and brilliant man who would become my boss, mentor, and a great friend asked me a generic question: why Do you want to work for local government? He followed up with my generic response, asking further: Do you want to make a lot of money? Are you looking for a pat on the back? I told him my passion was making communities better. Its about making places and leaving a better place for our children to inherit. Thats a good answer for a 21 year old, he said. Dont forget it. Now, go do it.
