During our junior year at CHS, on November 17, 1971, Hollywood came to Elkins Park. On that date, two Greyhound buses, a Winnebago camper, a black limousine, a million-dollar Cinebus, and a host of cars crowded the intersection of Marvin Rd. and Fairview to shoot scenes for the Paramount picture, Last of the Red Hot Lovers. The comedy film, which was based on Neil Simons play of the same name, starred Alan Arkin, Sally Kellerman, and Paula Prentiss. The house at 266 Marvin Rd. was used in the movie as Alan Arkins Long Island home. Several Elkins Park residents were seen in the film walking down the street. They were compensated $10 for their work.
