During the early hours of this morning I was thinking about the late Oupa Fanie. I discovred him in Bloemspruit living in horrible conditions. He was about 74, had nothing in his posession, no family, not even an ID document. He was suffering from lung problems. I took him to Omega Old-Age home and tried in vain to get him an ID and to upply for pension for him. Home Affairs was unwilling to help because they wanted a family member that was 10 years older than him. Thanks to John and Iris that helped me to pay for his registration at Omega. The point is, he had nothing and no family. No ID here on earth. He died not long thereafter in his comfortable room with at least a heater in his room. When he died, he had an ID in heaven and at least he had a son. Aunt Winkie helped me finanially to bury him. I went back shortly after his funeral to place a name-plate on his grave, but guess what? His grave was swallowed up by the many graves that came up after his. Not even the register at the cemetry could help me. One thing I know is that I will surely meet Oupa Fanie in heaven one day! Make sure that when you depart from this world, you have a heavenly ID, not a church, a ID! Jesus is the only One that can register you in the Book of Life! Shalom my friends!
