During the spring, 3 rooms on our Inpatient Unit were fitted with awnings to help keep the rooms cooler and provide shade from the heat and light of the sun. Previously, curtains needed to be drawn from time-to-time but now the awnings allow patients and visitors (including the four-legged kind!) to enjoy the view of the garden and outside space. The awnings also allow patients beds to be brought out into the courtyard, which leads into the garden, and remain in the shade.
