Dusk was sinking rapidly over the western horizon and the quarter - TopicsExpress

Dusk was sinking rapidly over the western horizon and the quarter moon was brightening overhead tonight when I took my first step on the trail at the Limberlost Loblolly. I had decided to take a night time Lob walk. Since it was dark, it was the spirit of the Lob, the song of the Lob, and the emerging constellations in the clear sky overhead that blended for a peaceful experience. Yes, so peaceful...that hadnt changed. As soon as I stepped on the trail, I felt the same peace of God immediately descend into my heart that I do in the afternoon under bright sunny skies. I felt His Presence the same as I did when the sky is rich blue and a warm breeze is blowing across the marshland. In the spiritual, nothing had changed...peace was there, the Lob was as comforting as ever and there was a deep assurance of the quiet voice of God whispering in my heart. As my walking stick and I hoofed off our favorite trail, I thought of the verses, some of my favorite, in Psalm 139 that tell us that darkness and light are both the same to God. How comforting to know that in the darkest of night, God still sees red barns, green grass, colored flowers and the fullness of our lives the same as He does in the middle of the afternoon. How comforting to know that darkness and light are the same to Him. His Presence is there in lifes darkest trials the same as it is on bright and sunny days. The light of the camera showed that nothing had changed because it was dark; New England Asters were still purple, Panicled Asters were still huddling in bunches, either white or blue and conifer trees were still green. Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday, today and forever...never changing regardless of the circumstances. By the time I came in, such constellations as Scorpio the Scorpion, the Big Dipper and Leo the Lion had become clearly visible, guarding the Loblolly below while the sounds of the night song brought peace to my heart.
