Dutchsinse: A new helicopter flyover from the County of Hawaii on January 19th 2015 shows a very large outbreak of lava occurring further up slope from the town of Pahoa, at least 1 1/2 miles away along the previous lavic flows extending off the flanks of Puu Oo volcano. The Puna lava flow luckily stalled out previously before it hit the marketplace of Pahoa. This new flow, which is much larger than the previous two bursts of lava over the past 2 months, is heading down a new path, which should take it more away from Pahoa, directed more towards Ainaloa. Also, the flow is moving towards Hwy 130 + Pahoa Village Road . There hasnt been a real USGS update ( a full update ) in over a week, thus we are waiting for the official word on this new flow. I can tell you personally, after monitoring earthquakes for several years, there is a new swarm of earthquakes occurring near the Big Island, off the Western Slopes of Kilauea (out to sea). This new swarm of earthquakes started at the same time of this new burst of lava from the fissure on the flanks of Kilaueas Puu Oo crater.
